Cheyenne Sun Dance

The Sun Dance. . . a ceremony common to most Plains Indian and a few Great Basin tribes. The central theme of the Cheyenne Sun Dance is world renewal: to make the whole world over again. It begins with the Lodge-maker who makes his vow and following that everything is supposed to begin to take new life, for the Medicine-Spirit {Maiyun}, having heard the prayer of the pledger begins at once to answer it, not so much for the pledger himself or his family, as for the whole tribe.

parting is such sweet sorrow

am in the midst of packing my stuff...am leaving my current employment and going into a new job soon...well, not exactly..am returning to my old line of work. it's kinda tough leaving though: shredding away old documents felt like shredding away memories...
ah, but life goes on, as they always say...
